會認識強納森里奇曼(Jonathan Richman) 是因當年透過水晶唱片林志堅買了RHINO 唱片公司重新發行的唱片，被認為是70年 代龐(判)克的最優秀代表作之一。

Jonathan Richman，一九五一年生於美國波士頓； 後來在七○年代早期加入了「 Modern Lovers 」這個樂團（團員有 David Robinson、Jerry Harrison、Ernie Brooks 等人）， 後來成為領導者，音樂創作方式和風格走的是帶有相當智識性的車庫路線，粗礪簡單的技巧中，蘊涵著深沉內斂的情感；他們號稱深受五○年代流行音樂和 Velvet Underground 影響， 並曾以一曲「Roadrunner 」榮登英國榜。後來，叛客旗手 Sex Pistols 也曾翻唱這首叛客經典，由此可見他們對叛客新浪潮音樂的影響。以前只聽到這首歌的時候，直以為他們的音樂就是這種古老爽勁原始的叛客風格；現在把整張專輯聽完，才發現其實他們的很多東西都很
沉靜低調而甜美， 有些也有相當低調的實驗性，可能是因為 JohnCale的關係吧。 民謠的元素也使用了不少， 但總體來說，「New York City Subway guitar sound 」（就是類似 Velvet Underground 那種吉他噪音）才是主導整體旋律的主要樂音，洋溢著真摯的搖滾活力， Jonathan 喃喃渴求的歌唱方式， 有時也和Lou Reed 有異曲同工之妙。
